Choosing the Right Earrings
When it comes earrings, there is obviously a seemingly endless array to choose from. Whether you prefer gold tone, silver tone, burnished, copper, rose gold, hematite, or just about any metal tone in between, there are countless pairs available for you. On top of metal choices, of course, you’ll also need to decide on the length, style, and size. You’ll also need to choose from the many inlay materials available including clear CZ stones, colored CZ stones, diamonds, acrylic, glass, etc.
Choosing the perfect pair of earrings to suit your particular style or outfit might seem a bit overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Once you know what general style of earring looks great on you, you’ll then be able to always narrow down your choices when shopping for earrings. All you really need to do is take a moment to determine your skin tone and face shape to get a general idea of what type of earring will best flatter you.
If you have a petite face, you may want to stay away from oversized earrings including large hoop earrings and extra long dangle earrings. Try small or medium sized hoops instead. If you have a longer face, try sticking with wider round or square earring shapes to draw the eye up. If your face shape is round or shorter, try wearing longer, narrower, earrings to create the illusion of length.
If your skin includes warm undertones, you might want to try yellow gold toned earrings, while if you’re skin is very cool toned, cooler toned metals like silver may be most flattering on you. Tones like gun metal (hematite) and rose gold can look great on all skin types.
Remember, whether they are basic CZ studs, or glamorous one of a kind dangles, earrings are often the most exciting part of your outfit. Above all, remember to have fun while choosing them and to wear what you feel beautiful in.
